Notre Dame Health and Rehabilitation Center uses a multi-faceted approach utilizing intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy geared toward providing the best possible outcome following stroke, brain trauma, seizures, and other neurologic conditions.
Under the direction of our Neurological Rehabilitation Director, Daryl Story, MD, our skilled team of medical and rehabilitation specialists evaluates each patient and formulates an individualized care plan focused on their personal goals and incorporating the latest combination of techniques to return patients to a maximal level of function as quickly as possible. Our program removes barriers to recovery and creates a supportive environment conducive to recovery.
State of the art equipment and techniques are used to encourage flexibility, range of motion, and mobility, while improving balance and coordination.
Daryl Story, MD, Director
Daryl Story, MD, Director of our Neurological Rehabilitation Program, is board-certified in neurology and vascular neurology. He is the Director of the Stroke Center at Norwalk Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at the New York College of Medicine. Dr. Story received his MD degree from New York Medical College and completed his internship and residency at Yale – New Haven Hospital, followed by a residency and fellowship in neurology at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Story is the author of numerous articles, and was awarded the 2008 Norwalk Hospital Subspecialty Clinic Outstanding Physician Award, as well as being named to the 2012 CT Magazine list of “Top Docs”.
